Music Therapy Equivalency (for those desiring to become music therapists):

If you have a music degree and want to become a music therapist, we’ve got you covered! Join our MTED (Music Therapy Equivalency Distance) program:

29 credits

Hybrid format: Brief on-campus residencies followed by online learning

Practicums and internships in your geographic area

Approximately 2 years to completion

Master of Arts in Music Therapy (for those who are already board-certified music therapists):

You need a master’s program that meets you where you are! SMWC has been meeting students’ needs with expert faculty and a hybrid learning format for 25 years. Join us for a brief presentation and interactive discussion about the M.A. in Music Therapy at SMWC. You will learn about:

• 36 credit program (includes Improvisation, Songwriting, Cultural Responsiveness, and Counseling Skills)
• Expert faculty and Immersive education
• Hybrid format: Brief on-campus residencies followed by online learning
• Graduate Assistantships
• Admissions Criteria

 *If you complete the SMWC MTED or BS in Music Therapy program between January 2025 and August 2026, ask about our “Bridge" to MAMT.
